Education Program Fundraiser
2030 or Bust is a non-profit, non-political environmental organization committed to ending the climate crisis. 2030 or Bust has developed a successful two-day seminar that teaches schoolteachers how to run a 2–month course for their students on how to reduce their climate impact in their everyday lives, which they then take home, share with their families and friends, and miraculously people’s and families’ behavior begin to change. The changes are tangible and make a real impact on climate awareness and action.
A successful pilot program last year at Phantom Lake Elementary in Seattle engaged 150 students with excellent results. Information on this pilot program is on 2030orbust.org in the Resources section under Education. This ripple effect concept has been used successfully in other past public health campaigns – like the successful anti-smoking initiatives of the 1960s, 70s and 80s – and has proven to be a powerful way to impact change.
2030orBust seeks to expand this successful program to schools nationwide. We can initiate our program in a very short time with a very small investment. The potential to greatly impact the entire climate issue worldwide is great.
We Need:
1. $150,000 by January 2025 to hire program administrators and set the program in motion.
2. $1.6 million by December 2025 to give seminars in 400 schools, with each program costing approximately $4,000.
I am asking you to consider:
1. Please reflect on how you feel about this and please consider a contribution to the effort in the next two weeks. I am personally committing $1,000 to this effort and I sincerely ask you to join me in this effort at whatever level works in your life. I will contact you next week to get an idea of your feel for this.
2. Please spend a few minutes thinking about who or what groups you know that would be open to being part of this effort and let me know who they are. If you will allow me to use your name when I contact them, that will be even better.
