Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate Social Media Manager to join our team. Social Media Managers will be responsible for managing and expanding our social media presence, fostering engagement, and raising awareness about climate-related issues.

Responsibilities

  1. Social Media Management: Manage and update social media accounts (e.g., Instagram, Facebook and X) to maintain a consistent and impactful online presence.

  2. Community Engagement: Foster interactions with followers, respond to comments and messages, and encourage discussions around climate-related topics.

  3. Strategic Posting: Collaborate with content creators to schedule posts using analytics and insights to optimize posting times and content types for maximum reach and engagement.

  4. Monitoring Trends: Stay informed about current trends, news, science, and conversations related to climate change on social media platforms.

  5. Campaign Support: Contribute to the planning and execution of social media campaigns to support organization events and initiatives.

Qualifications

– Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.

– Excellent written communication skills.

– Creativity in content creation and campaign development.

– Passion for environmental sustainability and climate action.

– Familiarity with social media analytics tools is a plus.

Time Commitment

We estimate a commitment of approximately 4-5 hours per week, with flexibility based on the volunteer’s availability. Social Media Managers will participate in regular check-ins and collaborative meetings to align efforts with organization goals.
